Our History

The Pikes Peak Flyfishers (PPF) is the oldest fly fishing club in the state of Colorado. Established in 1965, the club provides a place for fly fishing men and women to come together to learn, share, and connect with others fly fishers. You will find this group of people very knowledgeable about fly fishing and interested in helping you learn more about the sport in any way they can.

Our History

The Monthly Meeting convenes the First Monday of the month at the CPW building at 4255 Sinton Rd., Colorado Springs, 80907. Meeting starts with social time at 6:30pm and the actual meeting starting at 7:00pm This meeting includes a brief business meeting to inform the membership of decisions reached by the Board which affect Club operations and to keep the members abreast of on-going and up-coming activities. The business meeting is followed by a guest speaker. The guests include fly fishing guides, fly shop owners, and outfitters, who provide informative programs. Their topics cover inside tips for fishing local waters and other western streams and lakes. Also included are fishing tips on fly selection, equipment selection, and more.

Community Outreach

The Board is composed of the club's Officers, Committee Chairmen, and Program Directors. The Board shall meet regularly to address the operations of the club. A brief summary of the Board's actions will be presented to the membership at the Monthly Meeting. Any recommendations by the Board which incur expenditure of club funds will be brought to the floor of the Monthly Meeting to be discussed and voted upon by the general membership.

With the money we make at our annual auction and membership dues, we are able to provide financial support for a number of community organizations. We also provide volunteer support for other groups in the Pikes Peak region.
